Who was Chock Chapple’s First Wife?

Chock Chapple is an insurance executive from Wichita, Kansas ready to find love even in his age. He hopes to find an adventurous and compassionate woman and continue growing old together. He was married before but unfortunately, things did not work out. Let’s find out more about Chock’s past relationships and his children.

First Wife

Chock was first married to Heather Chapple. According to a 2008 article on Business Journals, Heather “was focused on building the business by selling policies to outdoor recreation companies.” Heather and Chock founded CIG Insurance in 2004 while in Sansas. They were married for 12 years until they went their separate ways.

Heather is now married to Mike Sharpe and now goes by the name Heather Gillingham-Sharpe. She works at NFP Insurance Company as the senior vice president in Washington. Heather and Chock have two children Taylor and Tyler.

Taylor Chapple

Taylor was born in 1999. She works at NFP Insurance company as an account coordinator. She most recently worked at Chase Gregory Jewelers as the director of Operations. According to her LinkedIn, she has also previously worked at Cargill Fellow, Bumble, Amazon, and was a bartender at Johhny Kaw’s Inc.

Taylor graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing.

Tyler Chapple

Tyler was born in 2001. He works in the insurance industry just like his parents. He works at vQuip as a production underwriter. His work is to “distribute and underwrite episodic insurance products for the North American power sports market” according to his LinkedIn.

Tyler studied at the Wichita Collegiate School and later joined The University of Kansas School of Business. He graduated in 2024 with a degree in finance. His bio reads;

Blending a family heritage in the insurance industry as a fourth-generation professional with modern entrepreneurial spirit, I bring both traditional expertise and innovative insights to the finance sector. My journey began early when, at 14, I managed a pioneering cyber claim, igniting my passion for risk management and product structuring.

Chapple’s Fiance Kathy

Chapple was engaged to Katherine “Kathy” Elizabeth White Goree. She sadly passed away in January 2022. While announcing her passing, Chapple wrote on Facebook that;

Kathy was an absolute incredible mother, sister, daughter, and better half. Super K was full of love, she lost her battle to cancer while never complaining nor having any regrets. Kathy’s love for her family, friends and furry friends was 2nd to none. She loved sports, especially KU basketball, as well as her kids games for the past 15+ years. Kathy very rarely missed one of Charlie’s or Addie’s game and would often turn the TV off if KU was behind at half-time- the stress of a potential KU loss was simply too much to for her to take.”

Kathy was 52 years old at the time of her death. They were in a relationship for nine years and were planning to get married. Kathy had two children Addison and Charlie. Chock shared about his relationship with Kathy to Joan saying;

“…I got a call from her son and he said, ‘I need you to come to the hospital,’ and I had no idea why.”

He remembers finding Kathy in the emergency room going through a seizure and the potential tumors on her brain. The neurosurgeon told them she had glioblastoma and that it wasn’t good. He added that;

“She lived for five months, four days. I’ve been through some things in my life, but I never had anyone die in my arms. It was heartbreaking. It was the only time I really showed vulnerability, where I broke down. And I started crying and you go, ‘Why couldn’t it be me? Why is this happening to you?’ So about a month out, Kathy sat me down, and she goes, ‘I want you to go on with your life.’ That’s one of the biggest reasons I’m here.”
