Jim Furyk’s Golf Career
Furyk turned professional in 1992 and won his first tournament on the Nike Tour in 1993. He joined the PGA Tour in 1994 and won at least one tournament each year between 1998 and 2003. In 2010, he won three Tour events, including the Tour Championship and the FedEx Cup. Furyk has come close to winning more titles since 2012 but has not been able to maintain his lead.

Reed criticized Furyk’s approach to pairing and, specifically, his decision to split up the previously successful Reed-Jordan Spieth pairing. In the 2017–2018 season, Furyk was not fully exempt on the PGA Tour, and he played the season with only past champion status. He began the 2018–2019 season out of the 126–150 category.
On March 17, 2019, Furyk finished second in The Players Championship, one stroke behind Rory McIlroy. This was a welcome result for the 48-year-old Furyk, who barely qualified for the tournament and had struggled with injury and poor play in 2017 and 2018.
