Who is Karoline Leavitt?
Karoline Leavitt is widely known for working at Donald Trump’s administration and during the 2024 presidential campaign. She has been very vocal in defending Donald Trump in TV interviews, campaign speeches, and social media.
She was initially an assistant press secretary and presidential writer assisting Kayleigh McEnany during Trump’s presidency. Karoline was appointed the national press secretary for Trump’s presidential campaign in 2024.
She is rumored to be the next press secretary under Trump’s administration come January 2025.
Family
Karoline was born to her parents Bob and Erin Leavitt in Atkinson, New Hampshire. Her parents ran a used truck dealership and a local ice cream shop in Plaistow, New Hampshire.
Karoline has two brothers Joe Leavitt and Mike Leavitt. Her older brother Mike got married to Kara in June 2022. She shared numerous pictures of the special occasion on her Instagram. Her brother Joe got married on August 30, 2024. She shared a tribute to her brother on his wedding day saying

Husband
Karolin has shared very little information about her husband Nick. In December 2023, she shared a picture of her ring announcing her engagement. She said;

Karoline has shared a few photos of her fiance Nick on her Instagram. Aside from that, not much is known about him including what he does for a living.
Son
Karolin and her husband welcomed their first child Nicholas Robert in July 2024. In a touching Instagram post, Karoline shared a picture of her and her newborn with the caption;

Career
Karoline studied at Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and later joined Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire. She graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in communications and political science.
She began her career working at WMUR TV and also interned in the White House Office of Presidential Correspondence before graduating from college. After graduating from college, Karoline worked in the correspondence office and later became the assistant press secretary under Kayleigh McEnany at the White House Press Office.
After Donald Trump’s tenure ended, Karoline became the communications director for U.S. Representative Elise Stefanik from New York.
Karoline made a bold move and ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in New Hampshire’s 1st district in 2022.
Leavitt’s campaign centered on economic growth, conservative values, and support for law enforcement. She affirmed her commitment to opposing government overreach, reducing taxes, and protecting Second Amendment rights. Ultimately, Leavitt lost in the general election to incumbent Chris Pappas by a margin of 8.2% of the vote.

CNN Interview
Karoline and CNN anchor Kasie Hunt exchanged words live on air during a CNN interview. Kasie asked Karoline, “Can you tell us what Donald Trump is going to do differently on the debate stage this time?”
She answered Kasie’s question saying Trump is well prepared for the debate, unlike President Biden. She then added;
“And that’s why President Trump is knowingly going into a hostile environment on this very network, on CNN, with debate moderators who have made their opinions about him very well known over the past eight years and their biased coverage of him. So President Trump is willing to bring his message to every corner of this country to voters to ensure that he wins this election in November. He looks forward to doing that. And I know the American public looks forward to hearing from him.”
Kasie cut her short and defended her colleagues Jake Tapper and Dana Bash who were referred to by Karoline without mentioning them.
She said, “So I’ll just say, my colleagues, Jake Tapper, and Dana Bash, have acquitted themselves as professionals as they have covered campaigns and interviewed candidates from all sides of the aisle, If you’re attacking the moderators, you’re usually losing
Karoline added; “Well, first of all, it would take someone five minutes to Google ‘Jake Tapper Donald Trump’ to see Jake Tapper has consistently …”
At this point, Kasie asked her to stop attacking her colleagues or she would end the interview. They talked over each other before Kasie abruptly ended the interview.
