Kelly Costa is an American meteorologist working at 7News – WHDH Boston. Before joining WHDH, Kelly worked at FOX Weather where she co-hosted ‘American Weather Now’ from Tuesday to Friday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. She was also the Overnight meteorologist from Tuesday to Saturday.

Education
Costa graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Meteorology. While at FIT, she was also a member of the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society.
Kelly’s Career Timeline
Costa began her career at the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in May 2014. She held this position until April 2016. While working at NOAA, Costa helped senior weather forecasters following them as they provided hourly predictions, Terminal Airbase Forecasts, and news posts.
Kelly then moved to Cleveland in May 2016 joining cleveland.com as a meteorologist and weather reporter. Her duties included hosting a weekly video program that covered the entire spectrum of weather, climate, and environmental issues.
Kelly relocated to Springfield, Massachusetts in August 2018 joining WWLP, the NBC affiliate as a weekday morning meteorologist for WWLP-22 News. While at WWLP, Costa covered several winter storms and other severe weather events such as storms, and heavy snow.
Kelly joined FOX Weather in February 2022 working as a meteorologist. After 2 years at FOX Weather, Kelly moved to her hometown in Boston and joined 7News, WHDH-TV in March with her first forecast being on March 25, 2024.
Leaving Fox Weather, Joining 7News Boston
On March 20, 2024, Costa shared on her Instagram that she would be leaving Fox Weather. She would be going back to her homeland in Boston since she missed her home, family, and friends.
“…I’ll miss everyone there dearly. As for what’s next… a little bit of a hint in this post. But I’ll be able to announce in the coming days! See you all very soon!” she wrote in her Instagram post.

Costa joined WHDH-TV in Boston Massachusetts in March 2024 as a meteorologist. She was happy to be back in her hometown and close to her family and friends.
