Who is Leah Hill?

Leah Hill is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist working as the weekend morning meteorologist for KMOV First Alert. She joined KMOV in 2021 as the meteorologist for the 4Warn Storm Team before the program was revamped. Most recently, Leah worked at KY3 in Springfield as a weekend morning meteorologist and weather reporter.

Leah Hill Meteorologist Career

Leah’s interest in weather arose from a phobia. Whenever there were storms nearby, she used to shelter in a closet. She took Earth Science just before high school, where she learned the fundamentals of meteorology.

Leah’s fear quickly transformed into love, and she decided she wanted to be a meteorologist. She started her career at KOKH in Oklahoma as a meteorologist under an internship program. During that period, she produced graphics for a top 50 market using Baron Lynx.

She then went on to work at Weather Decision Technologies as a meteorological support specialist. In August 2018, she went to KOCO as a weather intern during her senior year of college.

During that period, her duties included producing graphics for a top 50 market using WSI Max. She has most recently worked at kY3 (KYTV) in the Springfield, Missouri Area as a meteorologist. She won multiple Missouri Broadcasters Association awards during her nearly two-and-a-half years at KY3.

Leah got the Social Media Star Award in conjunction with all Missouri markets and the Certificate of Merit for Best Weathercaster. Moreover, she was awarded the Partners in Education Award for her joint work on Weather School classes with the KY3 First Alert Team. She left the station in October 2021 to join KMOV-TV in St.Louis, Missouri as a meteorologist.

Leah joined KMOV TV in October 2021 as a meteorologist for the 4Warn Storm Team. She became the weekend morning meteorologist for the First Alert 4 Weather when the station was revamped in December 2023.
