Kriski has been married to Jennifer Gould since September 24, 2011. Mark and his wife celebrated their 10-year anniversary in September 2021. Jennifer is an award-winning journalist currently a reporter on the KTLA 5 Morning News in Los Angeles. She has expertise in a variety of fields, including sports, true crime,  entertainment, and the wide world of features and breaking news.

Children

Kriski is a proud father of four children namely; Jacqueline, Derek, Tamara, and Danielle. His son, Derek, works as a lifeguard for the State Parks.

Mark was initially married to Samantha Lewis. The couple married in 2004 and separated in 2009. Samantha is currently filling in as a senior postdoctoral researcher at the University of California.

Mark moved to the United States in 1991 after accepting a job as a weatherman on the KTLA Morning News. His captivating style, offbeat asides, and humorous comments keep viewers of “KTLA Morning News” tuning in day after day.

Although Mark aspired to work on television, radio was where he began his career. He did voiceover work for commercials, went on to work as a radio DJ, and eventually rose to the position of promotion director.

He was a skilled broadcaster who was ready to follow his goals when he earned his first position in front of the cameras as a “weathercaster” on Canada’s Weather Channel.

“KTLA Morning News” gave him a fantastic offer and the Los Angeles demographic data was enticing, so he accepted the post and began his career in the United States. Los Angeles fans admired his distinct style and passionately embraced what he was doing.

Mark has had roles as a newscaster in more than ten Hollywood blockbuster films in addition to his full-time job on “KTLA’s Morning News” and has done pieces for Business World News. He is active in community and charitable initiatives, humbled by his good fortune, and ready to give back.

Kriski studied radio and television arts at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario.

Kriski had a health scare in November 2010 after being stricken with pneumonia and a hospital-borne bacterial infection but he was treated and recovered fully.

In May 2024, Mark had a stroke and was rushed to the hospital by his wife. He narrated his experience during his return to KTLA after a long break. He said,

“On Memorial Day weekend I had a stroke. Everything was pretty well and fine, but all of the sudden at one o’clock in the morning I had this massive, massive headache. I don’t get headaches, I don’t get migraines. It was from front to back. I stood up to go to the bathroom to get aspirin or something, I went down like a ton of bricks. I stood up holding the bed and I couldn’t stand, I was falling to the right.

He told his wife Jennifer how he was feeling and she immediately rushed him to Northridge Hospital where he underwent an MRI. Within five minutes of the MRI, medical personnel immediately called for a Code Red over the intercom. After receiving treatment, he underwent physical therapy as advised by his doctor Dr, Jandial. He also advised him to workout every single day.
