Savannah Welch Career Timeline
Savannah graduated from the University of Southern California with a Master of Science in Journalism. She then graduated from Pepperdine University with a BA Major in Media Production and a minor in multimedia design. Savannah obtained her Master’s from Mississippi State University.
Savannah actively participated in the school’s production projects while at Pepperdine University. She would record, edit, and produce videos for promotional and social media use by Pepperdine University’s International Programs department. She also wrote for The Graphic, which was Pepperdine’s newspaper, as well as other special edition releases for the school.
Savannah interned at the Smithsonian Institution, CBS in Santa Monica, and WTIwireless in Calabasas. She had her first journalism job at NewsWaves32 in August 2016 where she was an anchor and reporter.
She then joined USC Annenberg Media in June 2020 as a multimedia journalist. While there, she Produced, edited, and directed the 13-minute documentary called “Breath Taking” which aired on Spectrum News 1 in Los Angeles.
From June 2021 to July 2022, Savannah worked with the Sinclair Broadcast Group as a reporter filling anchor and forecaster. Her extensive reporting and news coverage was distributed across Sinclair platforms.
In July 2022, Savannah joined KATU Channel 2 in Portland, Oregon as a Morning Reporter, Fill-In Anchor, and Forecaster. She was nominated for an Emmy for her reporting on the ice storm in 2022 that shut down the city, canceled Southwest Airlines flights for a week, and caused massive traffic delays.
KING 5
In August 2024, Savannah announced that she would be joining KING 5 as a morning reporter and fill-in anchor. On her Instagram, she shared that;

Family
Savannah was born and raised in Kansas to her parents Robin and Donald W. Welch. Her father is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the CEO and Founder of Center for Enriching Relationships, Inc.
In December 2023, she shared with her followers on Instagram that her grandfather had passed away. Savannah was born in December 1997, she is currently 26 years old.
