She also graduated in 2010 from the Southern University Law Center with a Doctor of Law (J.D.), Law.

Career

Yodit began her career in 2011 as an Assistant District Attorney in the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office.

 She represented the State in pre-trial and evidentiary hearings and jury/bench trials, conducted case evaluation, and mediated pleas, among other legal duties.

Yodit founded The Law Office of Yodit Tewolde, PLLC, in 2014. She has been a member of the Texas Bar since 2010 and has aggressively represented her clients for around five years. 

Tewolde switched to criminal defense work after many years of prosecuting adult and juvenile cases. The National Bar Association later named her one of the best lawyers under 40 in the country.

Because of her experience in the criminal justice system, Yodit was chosen as a host on Court TV in January 2019, covering the most captivating trials in the country. She was also a Senior Legal Counsel for the non-profit organization Grassroots Law Project in 2020.

She was an in-house legal expert for the Fox TV show America’s Most Wanted from March to April 2021. Yodit was also a host and managing editor of “Making the Case,” her Primetime program on The Black News Channel (BNC).

In 2022, Yodit Tewolde, together with Rachel Juarez, joined the panel-based court show, Hot Bench Judges from Season 9. 

Apart from being an attorney, Yodit is also very fashionable. She grew up as a tomboy but has grown to find her style, as it is evident on her Instagram.

    She’s beautiful and a little tough, and she’s a great judge. And I always look foreword to see how she is going to wear her hair. I love her hairstyles. I watch “Hot Bench” just about everyday. And I don’t like getting any phone calls during the time I’m watching “ Hot Bench” 🥰
